Views of London from the top of Tate Modern’s new extension

Although the new extension to Tate Modern is about being able to display more art, to more people, it is also an impressive new piece of architecture for London. And in keeping with the new buildings going up in the city, it is a tall one. With a view. And it’s free.

There is a lift in the Tate’s Switch House building that goes straight up to the 10th floor if you just want to look out from the top.

Looking down onto the streets and ant-like people below…

The views of the river are beautiful.

And looking over to the Tate’s Boiler house pretty fab too.

I’m not so sure the residents of the swishy Neo Bankside flats are too thrilled, but that’s what you get if you live in a glass box I guess.

Looking over the city with the Shard in the distance. I preferred my trip up here; obviously it’s free, but also I like feeling of being outdoors and feeling the wind in my hair. Plus there is no cod-Heaven like music to complete your ‘experience’.
