And, yes, it was finished in February! (albeit two years later…)

Magnolia finished; but trouble with ‘keeping rib correct’

Posted by on Mar 4, 2009 in Craft | No Comments

Finished, but I cocked up the ribbed collar. Think it must be my misunderstanding the instructions, as no-one else seems to had the same problem from what I can see. What do other people understand by ‘keeping rib correct’? My increases came in the middle of a knit bit of rib, so I made the ...

Miss Rosehip posted a comment about how I was getting on with the Magnolia jumper – it spurred me on a bit, so now I am up to doing the shaping for the sleeves… Just so you know :)

Swing Jacket Hem

The colours aren’t *really* that bright… almost, but not quite! I’d started doing a contrast hem using the Sirdar but it was too close a colour to the YT Maze so I frogged it and did again using some pure wool of unknown origin that matches the flecks in the Maze. Anyhow I did the ...

Phildar Swing Jacket Swatches

After some humming and haawing I’ve picked a yarn! I’m going with the YT Aran (in Maze) as I think it will do justice to the structured pattern of the Swing Jacket. It was also made affordable thanks to ebay, or it would be a seriously pricey garment! The runner up was (and I surprised ...

This orange fluff is some Kid Classic from the Liberty sale last year. I can’t quite decide whether it is a garish Orange Squash orange and really awful or fabulous Sherbet Fizz orange and a delight to knit in the grey January days… I’m erring towards the Sherbet Fizz and it made me laugh cause ...

I actually finished this a week or so ago, but it was too hot to take a pic of, then I had a cold, and then had too much work on… anyway… I’m so pleased it fits, even if I’ll have to wait a bit until the weather cools enough to wear it.. :)

One and half skeins in fact…

Finished One Skein Wonder, only I had to use one and a half skeins of Summer Tweed to make it. Finished one ball as I finished the body, the sleeve edging and ribbing used the half of the other hank… Pretty pleased with it though as…. it fits! woohoo… :) – – – – – ...

I can’t work out whether this is the right size or really, really tiny! It’s hard to figure it out as the pattern has no schematic, so I’m unsure whether I’m knitting from the bottom up to the neck, or the neck down (crosses fingers it’s the latter…!)

Yay! it worked…. :) (something about not taking care when picking up stitches and misreading the decreases… pah!) Ok, well didn’t get to wear it in Brighton, but in front of a red wall instead!
