Just a gratuitous scarf shot – neither are finished but hey, I hadn’t posted anything for a while… :) The Clap you know, and the other one is a varient of Misty Garden from Scarf Style. It’s a mixture of some Alpaca my SP sent me in the summer and some Be Sweet boucle mohair… ok, as you were… :)

Just come back from a long weekend in Wales where some more of Clapotis was knitted… I’ve switched over from using stitch markers to just purling to show where the stitch eventually needs to be dropped.. much easier! An annoying thing using the Tapestry yarn however… I know that sometimes the wool snaps and there are knots joiining the two ends together, but… Rowan did you need to tie a very thin, pale blue end to a much thicker, darker blue end? it is supposed to be a subtley blended variagated wool after all!

So.. about 2 years after everyone else has made one, I am starting another [Christmas] present and making a scarf version of Clapotis.. Blame the new Tapestry yarn from Rowan.. I saw a ball in blue hues that [someone] really likes and thought it’d make a great gift for her.. I’d often hear crazy craft types talking about stating festive projects in the summer, but so far had never even contemplated it… now I have two! - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - - Pattern: Clapotis from Knitty fall 04 issue Yarn: Rowan Tapestry (sh: Whirlpool / 176 – lot: 004D1) Needles: suggested - 5mm, actual - 4mmYards / Metres: suggested – 300g / 600(ish)m Lorna’s Laces Lion and Lamb, actual – not sure yet! - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - [...]
