The day after M’s b-day drink is probably not the best time to ask for help in moving a great big desk from A’s workshop up 3 flights of stairs, but hey! It’s here now and lovely… I’m afraid my photos don’t do it justice in any way.. I’t needs a wide angle lens of something…
Anyhow I now have desk space where I can stretch both arms the length of it, a computer on a little shelf to avoid me kicking it, a table top I can get my legs under without scrunching them onto a shelf, lovely drawers, two cupboards and a great long shelf along the wall… yay! many thanks AG
It’s something, isn’t it, when you look at the forecast being ‘only’ 30° on Thursday and thinking phew – at least it’ll be a bit cooler…
Britain isn’t geared up in any shape or form to deal with any extreme kind of weather (see trains stopping because a leaf on the line or maybe, oh an inch of snow!). Hardly any homes have air con, so we are tempted into the freezer aisles of supermarkets, or shops where they do have it and spend a sneaky half hour ‘browsing’. Carpet suddenly becomes gross and pointless – why on earth do we have it on bus and tube seats for example?? (thankfully the days of people carpeting their bathrooms seems to have passed..)
The British tradition of ice-cream vans however, suddenly come into their own…:)
