Thought I'd get in there first
.
The Actionettes appeared on Sunday night in Antiques Roadshow as one the -ettes made her second appearance on the show (the first was in the 90s) reaffirming her fondness for 50s homewares (who knew the black and white Homemaker* ceramics were exclusive to Woolies? not me…)
It's available to view on iPlayer until March 23rd, and we're dancing about 17 minutes in.
* Also interesting to see that there is a new take on the Homemaker designs, albeit with more modern design icons. I like seeing the Thermos and Anglepoise Fifty on Yoyomaker, but still perfer the original!
…and some friendly lions.
We joined lotsa ladies on bikes as part of LCC's celebration of International Women's Day. The atmosphere was great – lots of decorated bikes and people – , and the LCC marshall's info about which lanes to take navigating tricky bits of traffic useful.
The ride was cut short a little as I think the route was ambitious in getting so many people through all the sets of lights (this wasn't a Critical Mass!) so afterwards we adjourned to the pub for a well earned pint and then cycled home, legs aching. (Haven't been in the saddle for a couple of months and by the end I'd done 15 miles!)
Finished, but I cocked up the ribbed collar.
Think it must be my misunderstanding the instructions, as no-one else seems to had the same problem from what I can see.
What do other people understand by ‘keeping rib correct’?
My increases came in the middle of a knit bit of rib, so I made the increased stitch a knit stitch too ie; pp k(k increase)k pp…
Anyhow, not so fussed that I’d re-knit it, and love the jumper anyhow; v soft and perfect size – all slouchy and cuddly
