A weekend on the Kent coast…
You might have gathered that weekends out of town are popular around here.. :) And with the super hot weather, nowhere is better than by (or in!) the sea… I took the train down to Folkestone with SK & M, where we visited MW, and saw Raft and Trawler races as part of the Folkestone ...
The snails are in Seattle!
Cool – they arrived! and Whip Up has a photo of them in their link to Plush You II… :)
One and half skeins in fact…
Finished One Skein Wonder, only I had to use one and a half skeins of Summer Tweed to make it. Finished one ball as I finished the body, the sleeve edging and ribbing used the half of the other hank… Pretty pleased with it though as…. it fits! woohoo… :) – – – – – ...
Bleak beach
Seasalter: it was an ‘Every day is like Sunday’ kind of beach. There’s something about beaches like this that I love. They inspire me; I feel like I could spend a week holed up in a beach hut, looking out (way, way out!) to the sea, drawing pictures, making things, taking photos… If I could ...
79 jars of jam!
We picked 12kg of raspberries to make 79 jars of jam between 9 of us! No not an old fashioned maths problem, but the annual craft club trip away… We stayed in a bunkhouse in Kent and spent a lovely weekend picking fruit, making jam, drinking wine, eating numerous cheeses from the farm shop, lazing ...
Glampyre’s one skein wonder shrug…
I can’t work out whether this is the right size or really, really tiny! It’s hard to figure it out as the pattern has no schematic, so I’m unsure whether I’m knitting from the bottom up to the neck, or the neck down (crosses fingers it’s the latter…!)
Market bag done (mark 2)
Had to unravel the first time I picked up stitches – I am hopeless at this bit (read: too impatient!) anyhow – it seems better the second time around… has pears and bananas in it, if you’re curious! :) Only bit I tweaked was adding the stripes, and also made the handle a bit wider ...
Needles and pins…
Boy did we learnn about pins last week…! Every metre of fabric had to pinned out as flat as if you’d ironed it to within an inch of its life.. Managed to print up about 9 metres of patchwork-bird-y fabric…and…er… now do something with it! :) Snails were finished last weekend too for Plush You ...
scorchio!
It’s something, isn’t it, when you look at the forecast being ‘only’ 30° on Thursday and thinking phew – at least it’ll be a bit cooler… Britain isn’t geared up in any shape or form to deal with any extreme kind of weather (see trains stopping because a leaf on the line or maybe, oh ...
Tuna Yarn
What will they think of next? Cod Cotton? Barnacle Bamboo? my SP assures me the name only refers to the town it is from in Sweden – no fishies went into the making of this wool! :)I also received some chocolate (eaten), a rose candle and some sparkly wool (not coming out til Christmas!) thank ...
