We danced 3 times last week, once here, once on International Women’s Day at Goldsmiths, and once at our newly relaunched club night with The Action Men and The Adventures of Parsley….

The latest sections in AW are getting more and more relevant for me… not least the chapter about having lists and lists of things to do, but not adding in any fun stuff or playing… it gets pushed to the bottom of the pile, after work, admin, household stuff…. ah yeah, *then* I can do the good things… (in about 6 months time!)

Last time I visited the Art shop I picked up some plasticine, remembering the smell and wanting to buy some…’computer says no’, so I put it back and forgot about it until earlier today. J had some hand cream – smitten from lush – and it has the smell of a mixture of plasticine and bakewell tarts… (actually it is a lot nicer than it sounds – I am a bit ’smitten’ with it!). I remembered about the little treats bit in the book, and bought some.

A not terribly inspiring terracotta colour, but as soon as I opened the pack, I was away – a coil pot, squidgy blobs… this little bird came out and I remembered the stop frame animation I did at college (loved doing it, except the studio was effectively a cupboard which got very hot from the lights, very quickly and melted things!)

So plasticine = a good hour of fun! (Oh and check out all the cool creatures that are made from it!)

lemon curd from A Gold, a Farrah’s original harrowgate toffee tin, lunch with friends, poem for the day book, blue skies and sunshine, amazing vegetarian food after my cousin’s baptism (so far in north London it fell off my mini A to Z!), dancing with the actionettes (and can-can girls!) at the Cafe de Paris, great fabric on sale at liberty, chapter 9 in the Artist’s Way getting me inspired again (last week felt a bit lacklustre and pointless – could’ve been me though.. ahem!)

Even though I was dreaming of hail and people wishing for snow*, I woke up this morning (far too early) and saw a beautiful spring dawn… Oh and yesterday we made pancakes – benefit no. 12,758 for working from home!

*and a curious loopy-feathered yellow and pink bird with a long curvy beak… it lived in a hole with it’s chicks, who were the little yellow bits of fluff you get on easter cakes… in the dream they bounced in and out of the hole and then the whole nest kind of travelled underground as if were underwater and all you could see were ripples…hmm…
