In March 2002 I was in St Thomas' for 5 days with pneumonia... Thank you to all the staff on the Sarah Swift ward especially nurses Frank and Karen.
air bubbled through sterile salt water that you inhale - it smelt like being by the sea... At one point me and the other two boys on the ward were laughing at something so hard we all had to go back to switching these on to get our breath back!
