Shaping fear..
Is finally overcome! Tempted by the Shocking Pink Coif from Knitty I went to JL* for needles & wool, and started to follow the instructions... And see it beginning to take shape before my own eyes!!
forgive my excitement - but this is the girl who when shown how to knit by her grandma ended up with a neurotic mess of stitches - I pulled the wool too tight and my hands were too hot!
but now.. not one but two projects in, I am doing ok... :) See pics here

Ravilious
So instead of burning up and down the No. 59 bus route I killed a couple of hours looking at the exhibitions at the Imperial War Museum before going to Spanish class. As ever the exhibits (Women and War, 1940's House) were brilliant, if sobering... To cheer myself up bought a beautiful book of Eric Ravilious watercolours and designs - was torn between this book and the one of his Wedgewood designs, but this one had more pictures! in colour!... Oh to have an Alphabet plate to put apples and pears in...

Also found out Ravilious had painted a mural in Morley College canteen (where later that evening I ate a jacket potato) but this had been destroyed in 1942...
ps. ok Ilona so you are in chicago, but surely they have internet cafes?, surely exciting things you'd love to tell us about have happened?? :)

For the first time in entering a competition I have actually won something! (ok, since I was about 5 at playcentre and I got some coloured pens for a drawing I did of the playground...) Who know's what it is I have won but I will let you know! (some random CD's from BBC6)....

cure for a cold...
Stay in Friday night snuffling and watching channel 4...
Saturday stay in bed until pm, have a bath / dress up for a cocktail party (you know - glitter...!)
Go round to Velvelette's house and drink Kir Royale and Cosmopolitans until you feel 'normal', dance a lot to Actionette routines... stagger home happy, around 2am...
